Breaking News About the "Hammer"
Tom DeLay won't be seeking a bid for re-election according to two Republican sources who spoke to CNN. DeLay was calling supporters and is expected to announce it formally tomorrow morning.
The GOP will now have a better than even chance of keeping his seat, especially if they find a heavyweight candidate like they've discussed. The party will not choose anyone who ran against DeLay.
Unfortunetly you're probably right. To his credit DeLay does work hard for the GOP and I bet he, realizing his own legal concerns would get in the way, dropped out to allow another to run.
